A Succesful TG Pheasant Hunt ( last pics on page 2)
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:19:00 PM »
Last Sunday 7 Trad Gangers got together  with 28 pheasents and Jeremy Clark of Clark BraodHeads for a  hunt at "Quail Country Hunts" in southern Ill.

Im terrible with names so Ill let the rest of the group chime in as they wish. Caleb Andes, my brother Thad and I drove from eastern Iowa (about a five hour trip) on Sat. night to make sure we wouldnt be late.  The question came up along the way if this place would be any good..........They go through about a 1000 pheasents a year, GOOD TO GO

For starters this place is laid back and the owners are about as friendly as can be.

I have a lot of pics to go through but here are a couple to get started with

Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun. Are those wild or pen raised birds you are hunting?

A couple more to add to follow the last sequence.

Notice how far my arrow is behind this bird from the last photo to this one and the berst mode of the camera is about 2 pics a second.

That's me in the middle of the first pic. I was the flusher and the bird got up behind me after I kicked around and went forward some. One of many that got away   :)

i believe if you look close at the 6th pic of the second set you will see my arrow(yellow)on the bottom of the bird and Evans arrow (white)just down and left of the bird.  Great action shot.

I just zoomed in and you are right, both of you were right on it, but you had to have plucked a few feathers with that shot.  In the previous picture, on the left side, you can see your yellow flu flu in flight.

Congratulations on your first pheasant, I couldn't be happier for you.  Getting it on video is just icing on the cake.  Judging by your shot captured in the photo, that is just the first of many to come.

Kudos to the cameraman for the pictures

Looks like you guys had a blast!
I'm going tomorrow with another trad shooter but there's a couple shotgunners going also. We had a whole crew of trad guys going but had to reschedule because of weather and the others couldn't make it on Friday.
I'm still looking forward to it but would have been better if we had more arrows flying.
Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.
