Rest in Peace Dan Shelton
«
on:
February 20, 2012, 04:56:00 PM »
Last night our longbow brother Dan Shelton passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Dan was a founding member of Sissipahaw Traditional Archers and was often seen at the range in the company of his wife, Sheila, and Bob Wesley. His accomplishments are way too many to list. Post your memories of Dan in this thread.
Here
is a link to his obituary and a guestbook to offer condolences to the family. Be sure and check out the photo gallery.

That is a shame. My condolences go out to his family and all who knew him.
Could he be the same Shelton that Steve Turay named his stringfollow bow after? I know it was for someone down that way.

Yes. The Shelton is the only bow in the Northern Mist line-up to get its namesake from other than a Michigan land mark. Steve and Dans friendship was for many years.
My thoughts and prayers for the family and friends.

Was just talking to Steve last week and he mentioned Mr. Shelton's health was rapidly declining. I am sorry to hear that he finally lost his battle but I am sure he is now in a better place. His family is in my prayers.

I am a proud owner of a NM Shelton. I remember the story that Steve told me about his first meeting with Dan. Our prayers are with his family.
