I have a Fox longbow on the way and was curious to see what quiver you longbow shooters like to use. I have always used a bow quiver but I'm open to other types. Also why did you choose that particular type quiver you use? thx

I use a Kanati Pro Strap-on from Anneewakee Archery on my Lone Wolf Autumn Storm. It's rock solid, and looks great you won't find a better quiver out there! Check-um out at kanatiquiver.com.

Great Northern if you are going to bow quiver. If not, a Hill style back quiver is super quiet and functional.

I second the Great Northern recommendation. I've tried most of them and now use only the Great Northern.

Thunderhorn Small-Fry. that's what I use on every bow I have. I've tried the other but the SM and me just fit. I have used the strap-ons, the side mounts and the limb mounted ones. every one works just fine for me.

now' with that being said....you can't go wrong with any of the quivers mentioned. everybody likes something different and for different reasons. just grab the one that grabs you.

I use a back quiver these days. It is all about the technique of using the quiver, and manipulating it through the bush. I find the bow quiver less and less appealing.

Used to hunt alot with bow quivers, but have moved away from a quiver on the bow. GN is hard to beat in bow quiver.

thx aw. I was gonna order one from 3 rivers but I just cant pay $100 or almost that for a quiver. I'll keep a watch on the classifieds when I decide what I want.

If it is a takedown, I use a Great Northern Quick Detach quiver. if it is a one piece, I use a Great Northern strap on quiver.

I've tried quite a few different ones and always end up back with my GN.

I have tried a lot of different quivers and I always come back to a side quiver like the Arrowmaster, or my favorite the bow mate elite quiver.

I find it hard to beat the convienence of a bow quiver. I have selway and Great Northern quivers but for me the Thunderhorn small fry looks and works the best. Solid as a rock and absolutely quiet. I have strap on small frys on all of my Howard Hills.

If you have not tried an EFA, then you should look at these quivers. When I say integral to the bow, I mean it is solid, light weight and well balanced. I have owned all of the ones above that has mentioned and the EFA is on all my bows now...not to say the others are not quality products.

Big Jim is the one that I use the most. I also have the GN strap on.

I really like the "NEW" Selway strap on system. I like the nice deep hood with "cup" protection, the fact that you can easily angle the hood/gripper to line up properly. The double prongs for the straps are real nice too, very secure.

Not the "fanciest" out there, but definitely worth a look.

thanks so much for all the replies guys. it looks like the vast majority uses a bow quiver. I wonder if its to add weight for a more stable bow or just easy access to arrows. Maybe both. I have a back quiver I got a couple weeks back just for when I go noodling and such but havent really considered it for hunting. Guess I'll take it on my shed hunting outings and see how it works. Try a side quiver. I use a Stalker model I bought here and like it alot. I used a back quiver at times until I slipped going down a hill and landed on my back. There were only field points and blunts in it at the time but I didn't like the idea of it happening if there had been broadheads in the quiver. I can hold the side qiver close or in front when going down a hill and move it out of the way when it's time to shoot. Easier to draw from than a back quiver as well. Just my opinion.

I have used a back quiver for years but have been thinking about trying a bow quiver. The Kanati slim Jim looks pretty neat. Anyone tried it out?
