JLMBH 2012
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:07:00 AM »
The 2012 Joan Leanord Memorial Bunny Hunt for St. Jude's was a great success. It was a small turnout, but over $2,000 was raised for the kids at St. Jude's.

Work is for people who don't know how to hunt.  People who don't know how to hunt, don't eat well.

Heres a couple. My new favorites. My sons Nate, Lil Fella and Noah, Big Fella.    Nathan is starting to shoot like Ishi. Wonder if he'll perfect it and stick to that style?

A pic of the youngus. Before any web police get their hackles up, this was a staged pic. The little guys got up there for pics after we arrived at our area.

Here is a planning session by the hunt master in preparation of a hedgerow push. This is at the end of the hunt and is always good for some fast paced bunny shooting insanity. At least one bunny is taken from this drive every time.

This was taken in the "Island Of Trees". This is thick but there are thicker places.

I love this spot. There is a cut stone foundation and many of these beams which appear to be from a cabin. Times caught up with it but it still has value to a wandering mind. Cant imagine how it was back when it was 1st built by skilled craftsmen who are long gone. That bow is the new Zipper Zipstick prototype. Man is that bow ever quick and down right beautiful. Ill be giving my impressions of it soon. I took 6 shots at bunnies during the weekend and all of them were close as you can get without killing a rabbit. Took hair off of one but he managed to run past at least 3 more folks to escape.

Noah and his bunny hunting pal Pete. Ive seen the hunt together for 3 years or so at The bunny Hunt and it bloes my mind how much theyve grown. I even overheard them telling some blue jokes.   :scared:

Just something that caught my eye, this is a stump that points straight up and for as old as it looks is still suprisingly standing.

Looks like a great event!  Small game is great to hunt with a bow!  Best way to get get kids into hunting.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
