Any issues out there? Is it prone to checking/cracking? Anything else to think about? Thanks for any info...Mike

I had a bloodwood and zircote riser. No issues what so ever. It was a Zipper SXT riser. I would have no reservations asking for it in the riser as long as my bowyer was OK with it!

Ive used it alot in knife handles and found it overall very stable, tough, serviceable etc. It has very close "family" ties to Bocote, but in my experience is less prone to issues then some Bocote can be.

I have a Great Northern Ghost that I had Rick and Jerry build with some Zircote I brought back from a trip to Belize. I have had this bow for probably 15 years with no problems as all. Riser and tip overlays Zircote, Hickory sap wood limbs. Looks really nice in contrast to the light limbs IMO

Mooseman,
This is my Hoots recurve and has Ziricote riser and Moose stippling and I have no issues with the wood! I wanted to post these pics cause it's fitting to your handle name and the overlays are moose antler as well...

Mike,
That Talltines is a nice chunk of board too...The Chocholate Ziricote with the black wavy grains really look sweet! Throw in some Olive Ash Burl on the limbs and you have a mouth watering bow...

I love that zipper riser! Did you ever sell it?
Thanks Mike.
It's matched up w/ some nice Myrtle. Brian did an awesome job on this one!
