TJ, I'm going to send you a pm when I get a chance.  The property is boarderd on three sides by running streams that are easily crossable. Add the prevailing winds and the place is just plain tough. Course, that's why they're there.

Another thing I truly believe in is "Sanctuaries" On all the places I hunt and the ones my friends have there is always a place deemed off limits. Only time we go in them is this time of year while shed hunting. Other than now there are no exceptions.

i got lucky today,  and found the sheds from this guy.

i had walked about 2 miles to the last area i had seen him in, just fallowing deer trails and trying to see anything that looked like a antler as far as i could see, but it was tough with the sun shining on the leaves and all the white chert shining.almost stepped on this one.

i stuck it in the loop on my camera pouch and kept going, but i lost it when i stopped to add to a ground blind i built last yr.
anyway.
i had just gave up and was headed back torward the truck and passing a spot that i hunted and was looking up in the tree i climbed with my climber.
and i turned to start walking again, and right next to me was this.

then i was standing there looking around, thinking wich way was he traveling.
i started back the way i had came a little then thought NAW! just head on down the ridge, so i turned and there it was not 12 feet from the other one, man they were hard to see. i wonder how many i have walked past keeping my eyes out ahead of me.?

im not really a big shed hunter, but it was like finding that first mushroom of the season.

Thats what I am talking about Bryant!

Shed hunting during clear skies with the sun shining makes seeing them much more difficult. Overcast days are ideal.

Don't give up Fritz it may still be on his head. Who says there are no nice deer in the south???  Great shed.

Well here is the other side of my buck.

It was 400-500 yards between the two.

Geez TJ, nice sheds! He's going to be a giant this yr! I have a 7 acre thicket where the buck has been bedding. So thick you have to crawl in there. I think that's where he dropped the other horn. Told my old dog to "hunt it up" she just looked at me with a look that must have meant, "you go hunt it up" or "go to @#@#". I'm not sure which.

Yeah I saw him this year from the stand. He is impressive. That trail cam pict doesn't do him justice. Hopefully he will blow up this fall.

Sounds like a smart dog bud. Problem with dogs is you can't have one that is too smart of too stupid.

Lucky enough to find a match pair from an 11 pointer I had seen a couple of times. Walked 6K to find these.
