Kip, I just got word this morning that my long time buddy is coming with me.  We're hog hunting only though.  Turkey hunting is pretty good for me at home but I'm really looking forward to stalking pigs.

Everyone please disregard my pm's as the hunt will begin on Friday morning until Sunday noon with everyone meeting at Wiggins Hardware approximately 6:00 p.m.  If everyone is there a little earlier, go ahead and get your licenses and Ray will get ya'll out to the camp in order to look over the lay of the land before the Friday a.m. hunt.

Look forward to seeing and meeting everyone!!!!!

Bought my license last week online.  Was the easiest time I ever had buying a license.

We're going to hit a  Wal-Mart on the way down. I guess SC has Wal-Marts, don't they?

They are so big down there, Estill probably has atleast 4 of them.   :biglaugh:

I have to hit one too and get another Thermacell and refill.  I'm sure we will need it by then.  I just looked it up and they are saying 80* for the hunt.  We had 65 here yesterday, and today it's 33*.  Nothing like Michigan weather to keep us on our toes.

FWIW, there isn't a whole lot nearby for big towns or super centers. Heck there isn't a whole lot of cell phone signal around there either, so don't plan on googling directions to the nearest one with your smartphone.  I'd suggest either getting your stuff before you go, or call Wiggins and make sure they have it just in case. BTW Wiggins is a SC licensing agent too.

Hope you fellas have a ball and kill some pigs!

I was at Ray's just last weekend. We all had our Thermacell's but didn't need them. I saw one mosquitoe first morning and that was it for the hunt.

I would pack one, hopefully you won't need it.

Wiggins is the place to get your license and MOST IMPORTANT YOUR TURKEY TAGS

They also have plenty of thermacells, holsters, and refill packs.  They close at 6...so just plan on getting there at 5 and you'll be fine.

We've had 5 inches of rain or more in the last week- and its warm...I don't know for sure about teh mosquitoes but I'd be prepared.

Sounds like swim fins and a snorkel need to be on the list as well.

This is getting harder and harder to wait until Memorial day.

Ray if you get anybody from the northeast that wants to come down, tell them they can ride with me. I have a sissy Prius I will be bringing down this time, that will cost next to nothing in gas. The commuting expense is on me.

Ray
Is Woody going to be there for the whole weekend?
Got my self a knapping kit and ready to learn.

Last time I was there I seen a mosquito with two arrows stuck in his side lol, bring a thermacell.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and hope everybody has a safe trip.

Benny
