Do you need a "Companion"? New from Swafford Knives
« on: March 06, 2012, 03:29:00 PM »
Introducing the new Swafford Knives "Companion" neck knife. It has a 2" cutting edge and the blade is 1/8" D-2 cryo treated and triple tempered to 61.5 rockwell. The same care that goes into crafting my larger knives is put into these handy knives. The knives are available with black, brown, and butterscotch micarta. The neck lanyard has a break away connector at the top for safety. The cost on these is  $125  plus $10 shipping! *** The one pictured is listed for sale in the sponsors classifieds***. This one has a red liner but the base model doesn't come with it unless requested as an option. Thanks for looking!! ACE 160 Standard broadhead pictured for size reference.

If you prefer leather, here is a belt sheath I made for a customer. This Companion is crafted out of x-fancy honduran rosewood with mosaic pins. 8-9 oz. Hermann Oak leather sheath with basketweave stamping. Cost on these upgrades is listed on my website under pricing.

It appears that the sheath has enough retention to hold the knife handle down when strung around your neck???

Here is a pic of it being worn. Very secure and the kydex is hand molded to each individual knife for excellent retention. It has a "snap fit".

Buddy, now that is that I'm talking about, great- especially for the money. Looks like it will handle field dressing handily.

Thanks for all the comments and taking a look! I have sold the one that was in stock but have several in progress now. If you place an order delivery time will be short.

This is a very nice looking knife!  I went to the web site and liked several there as well.  I might buy one but I can't imagine wearing a knife around my neck.

It seems so odd to me that one would handle a knife so near the neck?

I know, I've never tried and I've never even seen one.  I do like small, handy knives for squirrel skinning and even field-dressing deer (I don't cut bones to field dress).

Would anyone be willing to share with me why this does make sense?  I don't mean to be critical at all, I'm merely ignorant.
