Footing AD Trads
« on: July 26, 2007, 08:41:00 AM »
Hey Gang,
just bought some Arrow dynamics trad heavies and was thinking of trying to foot them with some aluminum shafting to make them bulletproof. Anyone have experience with this?  Is there anywhere I can find aluminum shafting with an inside diameter that large(11/32)?  Anyone else foot their own AD trads? Thanks for the help! Cheers, Matt

Why put the aluminum on the outside?  Put it inside and use the aluminum insert.

a 2413 aluminum shaft is a perfect slip fit over a 11/32 woodie, should be fine for your carbon.

Thanks Scattershot! I wasn't sure if they made them that big. I'll have to see if I can find one.
Bowdude- The aluminum goes on the outside on the point end to help prevent splintering and the insert from being thrust into the shaft from a heavy impact.  Now I just have to find a way not to lose them;)  Cheers fellas, Matt

Well, no laws that say you can't foot the nock end either, bowdude... ;)

That's a good idea Bowspirit!  Anyone know the aluminum shaft size to fit over the 5/16" nock end?  Cheers, Matt

MM, I believe it is a 2216 that fits over 5/16ths shafts, they work on my Heritage 150s. Yup and Van has that right! Shawn

Also a 2112 will fit over a Heritage 150 but not a 250 size shaft. I foot both ends of my shafts. Now if I could keep the guys from cutting them in 2 I would be even happier.

Thanks lads! OK, so a 2413 for the point end and a 2216 for the nock end. About how long do you guys make each?  Cheers, Matt
