Toelke Super D
« on: March 07, 2012, 12:29:00 PM »
I just put a Dan Toelke Super D in my hand and slung a couple of arrows.  64", 49#s at 28". I shoot 26.5" so I figure it's about 45#s. This is going to cost me, but man is it going to be worth it!!!   :bigsmyl:

Dan makes a wonderful bow. Worth every penny.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

I have a Whip HS and just received a Lynx this past week. Both of these bows are very quiet and no hand shock.  Also, both shoot where I am looking...sometimes I am not looking at the target though. LOL

OMGosh!!!!!

I just went to an indoor range.  This bow is quite possibly the best bow I have ever shot.  I couldn't shoot at the same target for fear of breaking the wood arrows I had on loan!! NO percieved handshock either and SUPER SILLY QUIET!!!!!!!

I am shooting about 45#s at my draw length of 26.5".  I don't care much about speed, but I had to run it through the chrono to see what it was doing once I shot it.  The suspense got to me! lol

148.5 fps with a 497 grain arrow

158.5 fps with a 457 grain arrow

I may be wrong, but I have never seen this kind of speed with a straight limbed longbow.

Anyway, now my only question is whether to buy it or give in and order my "perfect" bow!

Dan is da man!            :clapper:

That thing has February Gawgia PIG KILLA written all over it!  Although I must admit I wish it was at least 51#s at my draw.

Sitka Spruce arrows and treesharks seems about right!  It looks like it will like fairly heavy arrows too!

They are awesome bows. I love mine and get a bit more out of it due to 29+ draw length. Best d shaped bow I have shot.

Well I don't have another 45# bow for reference, but it seemed pretty fast to me.  Maybe just more than I was expecting.

This is the first "hill style" straight limb bow I have ever shot more than 5 times.  I have never worn an arm gaurd but the string slaps my arm.  Is this normal for a D bow or do I need to change my form?

All about your grip. The bow will teach you, but lots of info here on the subject. I shoot mine with no armguard or slap. Good luck.

I can't see how I can get around it Kook.  I can't shoot two arrows at the same target with this thing.  I nearly broke some borrowed wooden arrows at noon never having shot it before.

They are shooting tonight.  Not sure if I will make it, may have to go to a meeting.  Come and let me know what you think of the bow.

Dang I wish this thing was a few pounds heavier.

Dans lead time to finish a bow order is usually less than a month, if you want heavier you wouldn't have to wait too long.
