I broke two out of the three borrowed arrows this afternoon.  The bow has a mind of its own!

SMOOOOOOOOOTH! no handshock to speak of, and quiet as a church mouse!

I'll try and post pictures tomorrow from work.

I have the grip down now.  Not used of something being that straight.  Medium low grip with a slight dish helps me.

I've always shot a short bow since I'm short.  Any tips on shooting a 64" bow out of a treestand?

Is this enough bow for pig hunting?

It seems to me that it's plenty for deer inside 25 yards, but I'm wondering about pigs.

Like I said before it slings a near 500 grain arrow about 148 fps.  I'd like to go up in weight to about 550 and just keep it inside 20 yards.  Let's hear it from the pig killers.

Fred,

I want to see you in a trophy pic!  If you shoot it that well and use a heavy arrow I can't see why it wouldn't get the job done, but I'm not the one to be giving advice on hog hunting or shooting a 64" bow out of a tree stand.

Fred, I've got 2 feeders up at the lease right now. I need to get with you about that corn. I'll check the camera next week and we'll go from there. Hopefully we can get you sticking one on camera.

RC kills the heck out of hogs with HH style bows that are around 47# @ 27".  If you can shoot heavier, fine, but I bet you can put some pork in the freezer with your setup.  Not every hog you see is going to be a 400# brute with a 2" thick shield.

I hunt out of tree stands all the time with my 64" bows. The stands I use are either Tree Saddles or stands with the open front. I am 5'8" on a tall day.

I bought a 64" from Dan. He built it to 31" draw and 52 pounds. Never chrono'd it but it seems quite fast with 550 grain arrows.
It took 3 weeks and a day to get it with the wood I wanted. I'd order one exactly like you want and commence to pig slaying.

Just go get it if I can't make it.  It's in the blue barrel under the deck.  But call me, I might go with you.  Always wanted to see your lease.

Nice!

Is the shelf radius-ed?

I thought it is from what I saw in the pictures.

Is this "Hill" enough to be called a Hill Style bow ?????  The pics may not show it, but the limbs and grip are extremely straight although Dan does add a little pizzaz to his bows IMHO.

Straight limbed except for a very slight backset at the end.

Grip is straight with the exception of the slight dish that functions as a sort of locator.  It is a smaller grip than I have seen on the Howard Hill bows.

4 lams, plus a SMALL strip of maccassar ebony added in between for show.  I tried to like the bigger more traditional "Hill" grips, but this one is JUST RIGHT!
