Swarovski optik worth every penny

Just wanted to let anyone who is on the fence spending the money on a pair of Swarovski binos that if you do you wont be sorry. Not only do you get the best optics money can buy IMO their warranty and customer service is second to none. I came home yesterday and found that my 9 month old german shorthair had been busy in my shop. He chewed through the leash I had used to secure him to one of my mounting stands and destryed eveything he could. As I was picking up the mess I noticed the objective cover off my 10x40 Swarovskis on the floor and got that real low sick in the gut fealing. After looking around I found that the dog had got the bino case off one of the glass dispay cases in my shop, opened the case and then proceeded to chew the rubber armor coating off a 1600.00 pair of binos! After calming down and deciding to let the dog keep sucking air I called Swarovski optic, the gal I talked to said it was actually common to have this happen and send them in and they will fix them no problem. I was absolutely floored. I appreciate the integretty of a company that cannot control all of the abuses to their products and take care of the customer no matter how inexcusably dumb the cause was. I am one who definetly will buy American evey chance I get but I salute this company for their customer service. (SALUTE!)

They are the best but I personally questioned the price difference between Swaros and Vortex for the quality difference.
I tried out every bino I could and there were three binoculars at less than half the price of Swaros that were right there in every aspect including warranty. I settled on the Vortex for my eyes because I just could not justify the difference and honestly could not distinguish any difference in sharpness or clarity.
Your experience with the pup was great. The response of the company was faultless. Of course I have no way of knowing the response of any other company to that happening but I would not fault any for doint what Swaro did.
That sure says a lot about them and it certainly is commendable.
God bless you and great writeup, Steve

I've used my Zeiss's for the last 34 years. Good glass cannot be beat. I'm not saying Zeiss is the best...just saying they have been totally adequate and far superior to the binocs I've used in the dim and distant past! You pay what you get for!

Every time I look through my Swaros, I smile....... :D
and yes the customer service is top notch!!!
For me, a good pair of glass is just as important as my bow and arrows.

FWIW,
I had a pair of Zeiss 10x40s for over 20 years. Just great, held up to my abuse. Sent them to the factory once for some adjustments.
As I get a little older I find I could not steady the 10 power as well as I liked. Bought a pair of 8 Swarovs. Compared side to side the Swar seemed "better"...so technology moves forward even in binoculars. I suppose the newer coatings make a difference.
Sold the Zeiss to a friend but it was difficult to let go of them. We had been lots of places together.
So you may want to update your binoculars every 20 years or so.

I have a pair of Swaros I bought in 1990. About 5 years ago the strap attachment broke on one side of them. I sent them in and they came back with a completely new body, strap, lans covers. I was floored. A couple years ago the eyecup came off and was lost. Called them and no questions, just sent me out a replacement. Pretty good for 20 yeaR OLD PAIR.

A while back I drove the guys in the optics department at Cabelas crazy for about six hours over a two day period. I kept trying to find a less expensive alternative the the 8.5x42 Els I bought. Nothing really came close, especially looking into dark and dimly lit areas. The only pair in any way comparable was the top end Zeiss and I didn't like them for ergonomic reasons, the Swaros were much easier to operate with one hand. The Zeiss were actually a few bucks more if I remember right.
Glad they are treating you well. I have always heard raving reports of their warrantee service. Nice peace of mind.

Yep, cheaper binocs
MAY
look
almost
as good as the Leica/Zeiss/Swarovski in the store, but after you sit behind them for a few 12 hour days in the mountains, there is no comparison. Glassing is a truly different game than taking a look thru your binoculars a few times a day from stand.

Yes, yes, yes. Get into the worst conditions imaginable and thats when you truly "see" why these optics are worth every penny.

Years ago, I was like many who thought most binocs were all the same and kept using the budget brands. After winning a pair of Swarovski EL glasses on the big auction site, my perception changed quickly.
Not only were they superior in low light, I noticed the clarity and detail "at the edges" were top notch.
Carrying a quality glass will most likely mean you will be using it more...and when you use it more, you will see more game and enjoy the outdoors even more.

Good glass is the best investment a western hunter can make. HOURS glassing will make incremental quality seem like a darned good investment awfully fast. Like others here I've been looking through Zeiss first (from 1975 through 2005) and am now looking through Leica binoculars (own two pair) and through a Swarovski 85mm HD spotting scope. Good optics are THE BEST investment someone who hunts where significant glassing is required can make.
