Oliverstacy. Uns(tr)ung hero
« on: March 12, 2012, 09:41:00 PM »
I'd just like to give a big shout out & recommendation for Josh Sowerby, aka; Oliverstacy.

I've been getting Josh to twist up srtings for me since he started making them. I've probably had 13 or 14 over the past few years & I have to say, every single one has been a work of true craftsmanship.

I'm not really one for throwing recommendations around, willy-nilly, but a couple of really good folks just deserve public praise. Bob Morrison is one, Oliverstacy is t'other.
His strings are always, always perfectly round, the correct length, have great loop sizes, are nicely served & usually made & delivered very quickly. My last 2 were ordered on Monday mornings & delivered by Thursday. He has an amazing array of colors and serving sizes & materials. He can pretty much twis you up anything you need, from skinny 6-8 strand strings for my stable of Morrisons right through to monster 18+ stranders for my bowfishing bows (they get a LOT of abuse in the boat & cut strands are the rule, rather than the exception!)

All in all, if you need a great string at a great price, give ol' Josh a shout. I promise you'll not go wrong.

You called it right Rob.  Josh has done every string I ever supplied to customers as part of the Bow Hospital, and all of my personal strings as well.  Each one done to perfection!

You hit the nail on the head Rob! I have been more than satisfied with the strings Josh has made for me. All have performed flawlessly and they get shot....ALOT! And if you still wonder about quality? I have gotten strings from Josh for a 102# Schulz Trophy Hunter and a 90# Howatt Longbow. I shoot the 90# almost daily and the since I got the new string from Josh the heavy Schulz gets a workout 2-3 times a week.

In fact, I am glad you posted this Rob, I need to order a spare for my NM Classic.

Josh knows strings. I've got all my strings from him the last few years. Always the right length and perfectly made. Just got one from him last week for a new bow that came with a factory new string. I just won't shoot any string on my bows but one of Josh's.  :clapper:

He's made a few for me as well and they've all been top quality. In fact I need to contact him to get a spare for my Ambush.
