always bow hunting!
« on: March 12, 2012, 11:31:00 PM »
The other day I was in the local Safeway with my wife Diane (I am a Blessed man, anyway).  I was looking, more staring, at a small spring clip thing.  A friend walked by and said. "Hey what are you doing?"
With out hesitation I said. "Bow hunting, I am looking at this thing wondering if I could use it while hunting elk.  In my head I am always  bow hunting!"
He is a not hunter, he just shook his sad pin head and walked on.
Can you relate?
Joe

Yup. I believe it's a sickness... at least my dear wife will tell you that!  I actually buy stuff at craft stores just in case I can use it to make something for hunting or archery!
Sometimes I wish I could get my mind off of it! My poor wife, no doubt, would benefit if I had less of a prey drive! Heh.

No picture of the spring thingy. I might need one. I get in trouble going on a drive with the wife all the time. Watch the road and stop looking for those (    ) coyotes and deer.

:laughing:Everything you look at you analize it to see it fits into you gear some how...every animal you see you pick a spot...every drive through the mountains you try to get the wife to drive so you can check things out..looking for little saddles. benches..animals etc. Ya I can relate. It really is a life style isnt it.

Last Saturday, long train ride with some friends to a concert, everybody is laughing and talking and such, only me staring out of the window all the time.
"Are you sad? Always staring out of that window...?"
ME: "Just looking for deer...."

I can relate   ;)

Sad... but TRUE!
I'm a Hunter, too. I think about it everyday.
I work outside so I'm always looking for sign or game. Always scheming something hunt related.
Wouldn't have it any other way.

I hear it all the time when on a drive "Why can't you talk to me.  All you want to do is look for deer". Yeah duh!

Wife's hate tha t in husbands.  I am always looking to recycle things into our trade.  Made a spine jig, creator, and dip tubes from others junk.  It is addictive

I can relate! there is not a thing I do or  place I go that I am not thinking about bpwhunting in some way or another. My wife thinks I am nuts but that is OK cause she understands what it means to me and lets it continue on!

I can also relate. Fortunately my wife supports me in what I do. This past Christmas she bought me a hunting jacket and said "you better use it". She keeps me from sleeping in on my hunting days. I'm always pointing out deer to her when we drive.

Same way. Always looking for things that I can use while hunting. My g/f hunts as well, so she understands. I am very lucky.

Yes I bowhunt everyday. While driving home from work, I'm constantly looking at treelines along fields and clear cuts. Almost missed my exit the other day.  :knothead:

Yes I can.  Mrs. knotter challenged me to go one day without thinking about bow hunting.  I agreed and said when she closes the lid on my pine board box she gets one day.

question: can you use said clippy thing on an elk hunt or not?

Always! My wife gets sick of it sometimes, but she is awesome and supports me in it! I am always picking a spot and determining if it's the right angle on something, and living on a small ranch, there are plenty of critters to do that on.
