Silvertip setup Question?

I was curious about brace height, nock point and what arrow? I shoot a three piece 54# at 28" I draw to 30.5" consistantly. I put a 10 strand string (originaly 16 strand) now my arrows are showing weak. I've shot 2117's for years but wanted to try a skinny string, now I'm back to square one!

I have a 60" Schafer Silvertip recurve that draws 54# at my 29" draw length.  The brace height that it settled on was 7 3/4".  The nock set ended up shooting lazer beam straight arrows after being set at 9/16ths above center. I shoot off an elevated rest (Bear Weather Rest).  I am currently shooting an Easton Axis ST Nano 400 cut to 30" BOP.  It has a 100 grain brass insert with a 175 grain tip.  The arrow has a 7" wrap and is fletched with 3, 4" plastic DuraVanes.   Total arrow weight is 565 grains.   This set up shoots like a dream for me.  Quiet, fast, stable, repeatable and very accurate.  Hope this helps you.  ~Steve

BTW,  I also use an SBD 8 strand 'skinny' string with padded loops with this set up.  Nock fit is perfect.  This Silvertip is FF compatible.  ~Steve

You can reduce the insert or point weight, raise the brace height, get stiffer arrows, or go back to the previous string-all will work.
The skinny string is giving you a more efficient set up-retuning is very common.
