If I remember correctly, the edge of that diamond creates a four cornered "star" at the throat of the grip. I know it's something Paul put in there intentionally because he liked the way it looked on his Damon Howatt.
I'm not sure where the "Black Ram" comes in, but the "Navarino" is for the wildlife area near Shawano that Paul used to hunt.
As pretty as your new bow is, Paul once made a bow with an orangish-hued cocobolo riser with moose horn accents. That bow would probably be in my "top-five" for most attractive bows I've ever seen. The only plain-jane bow I ever saw of his was the original prototype, and that was a nice shedua-rised bow. The one that Schlaggerman had was a looker, too.
Hope your bow shows up tomorrow, otherwise it's going to be a loooong weekend waiting for Monday.

Hi Charlie, Here's the info on the bow. The original owner was Morgan Warner, he lived on a farm east of Wausau. Paul Schwartz used to come to a lot of our shoots and that's where Paul and Morgan met. I had one of Paul's bows and Morgan always admired it and so he ordered one from Paul. Here's the interesting part; Morgan was a compound target shooter and wanted more of a challenge so he got into recurves late in life. He never liked 3D archery, only shot the 300 blue face leagues. I would guess that bow is in pristine condition because it was probably never shot outside. He never hunted with it or shot 3D archery with it, strictly indoor spot or our animal target face leagues. He used to attend all of our traditional shoots but would only shoot the indoor portions of the shoots. I haven't seen him in probably 7-8 years and didn't know he had passed away. Dale

The Bow is still Missing in Action    :(          It thinks it was here in my hometown and then accidentally sent back to Syracuse.  My guess is since it was a large package it didn't handle the conveyer belt well and was set aside, then loaded into the wrong truck by someone who is overworked and underpaid.....

Thanks For the Info Dale, That's pretty neat and my Dad will be happy to learn about it also.  we were told the previous owner passed and the family sent the bow to auction but it doesn't guarantee he is dead.  cant believe everything you hear i guess.

I feel the same way Joe!  I have talked with enough of you guys to feel like I know you, but have yet to meet you in person.

I will be sure to update on Monday, the new anticipated delivery date.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Thank you all for helping find the history on this awsome bow. Dale and Knobby, you hit the nail on the head with describing everything about this bow, I am amazed with the information on a bow you saw many years ago. It does have the cross in the center of the inside of the hand grip anf the word Navarino written under Black Ram. Plus Morgan Wever is the name on the bow. Charlie hangs with some realy cool people. I shot this wonder bow before I sent it out to him and it was a dream to shoot as the arrows all hit with in a few inches of each other every round I shot. It was hard to wrap this up and send it away and I knew Charlie was disapointed in me a little for this not being what he thought I was buying. Plus we could not find any info on it right away. I told him if he was un happy with this bow, I would buy it back. But once he has his hands on it, my chances are slim to none.
Ron , you should get your chance to test drive this as there are new scans on this and should deliver to Charlie today. I can not wait till he has a chance to open this and hold it in his hands.
Dale, perhaps one day we can meet and fling a few.
Charlie I hope this bow is worth the money.
Let me know how it fits and shoots for you, other wise you know where I live!!
Dad

I found this package and the end was open, the box was a little crushed          :scared:  .    I had a sick feeling come over me before I dug in.

I quickly opened up the box to see the contents!

Thankfully everything was in great shape sheeew    :readit:

I will try to get you guys the profile picture in the daylight.

This bow was made in 1997, the year I graduated.  The bowyers phone # plus brace height info and such was found in a pocket inside the bow case on a receipt sized piece of paper.

The day this bow was made was actually a day my father and I were turkey hunting. It was also the day we went turkey hunting and saw our first white turkey and the day our old dog Sadie adopted us. This was 3 days prior to my 18th Birthday.  I remember the bright sunny day well. saw a huge flock of turkeys, caught a few trout, found a few Morels and brought home a new dog much to my Mothers she-grin.

I saw a fellow at Comptons last summer with one of these bows. They are very nice to look at and hold.
I hope you like it Charlie

As promised, I rushed home from work and took some pics that do not give this 15 year old bow justice.

The rise is Bacote and Cocobolo. The accent stripe is Choct Koch (Chacta Coke)

Glad you like the bow Charlie and it meets your expectations. You take much better pictures than I did.Glad it all came together. Just did not need the added stress of the thought of it being lost in transit. Well it is home now. I can sleep better tonight.
