First of all let me say that Shawn Swafford (aka Ringneck) not only does phenomenal work but goes out of his way to make sure the customer gets what they want. I am constantly amazed at the quality of work exhibited by individuals in the trad community. Shawn Swafford is top shelf people!

I contacted Shawn about 3 weeks ago about a custom knife to match my Northern Mist classic longbow. Shawn was quick to answer my questions, even making a trip out to his shop late at night to check on his stock of wood as I requested the scales match the riser on my bow, Bolivian Rosewood. After deciding on the model and additional features Shawn got started. 3 weeks later my Autumn Hunter arrives and man is it a thing of beauty!!! I have been contemplating the hesitation I will feel the first time I need to get this thing dirty!!!!

Not only did Shawn match the scales, but I asked if he could match the sheath to my grip. He said sure but that he did not like to rely on photos since sometimes the color is not accurately depicted on a computer monitor. So I made a quick call to Steve Turay and asked if he could help me out. The call resulted in Steve dropping a sample of the leather used on my grip in the mail to Shawn. (Many thanks Steve!!!) The result is a Sheath that is near a perfect match to the leather grip.

I think the combination turned out really nice. What do you think?

That's a great looking combo.....looks like a perfect match.

I've had one of Shawn's Autumn Hunters for a year now. Shawn made a horizontal carry sheath for my knife.

I carry it every day, and I'm very pleased with the knife. You can pay more for a knife, but you'd be hard pressed to buy a better one.

Very nice match up. I like to see gear put together thoughtfully. Be a dandy combo and I'm betting you won't mind a bit if things get "dirty".
