Walkin and Talkin and Stumpin on the Gamelands
« on: March 31, 2012, 02:03:00 PM »
Last Sunday afternoon after church Lori and I got the bows and quivers loaded up to go do some stump shooting. It was a beautiful afternoon.

This leaf in the middle of the road made a good focus point.

We were both close, but no one rattled the leaf. I slammed into a hidden rock,it kind of rattled my Hex.

Walking out the trail we saw this through the brush.

Turned out to be a mylar balloon that had run out of gas. Hmmm, bright red and the size of a lung.

Like I said this was a brushy shot. I went first then Lori.

Thanks Charlie, she is shooting a Legend Longbow built by Jim Johnson. He also built a few recurves.
Nice graceful limbs and it surprises you with 28#25"

Some pretty little flowers along the way. It has been unseasonably warm the last few weeks and everything is way ahead of schedule.

Great shooting and good save on the nock. How were the ticks, went out last week and had five ticks, 2 were feeding and 3 taking a walk,on me, hate those things.  :banghead:

This Sassafrass is getting hammered pretty well by the Pileated Woodpeckers. There known here as Pennsylvania Teradactyles.
