pretty much what i figured, was kind of looking to see what people thought about 2 blade vs three for turkeys?

I would use which ever one I have the most confidence in. 2,3, or 4 blade it really doesn't matter if it doesn't go through the vitals.

i am actually using a different bow for deer that already had matched arrows and bh's. looking for the best set up for my Kanati which at my draw is about 48 pounds.

I have only used two blades, because I am pitiful at sharpening 3 blades. However, 6 turkeys so far have not complained when shot with 2 blades; they just fell over.

Centaur just curious as to what your set up is for turkeys? 6 birds with the bow is something to be VERY proud of!!!

Ken,
I use my deer setup, which currently is my Big Jim TC, 55#, wood arrows, and I'm currently liking Magnus, Stos, Zwickeys, or Aces. My arrow/broadhead weight is around 625 grains.

Drew, after seeing you shoot at last years stump shoot, I find that hard to believe.

Is a heavy arrow needed for turkeys ?

Good luck Kenny.

Did you have to curtsy to Killie to get them?  :scared:    ;)  I've missed turkeys with Snuffers, STOS, Magnus, Treesharks and a stone point. This year it will be time to try either a 140 grain Grizzly with 100 grain adapter or 160 Grain Kodiak with 42 grain adapter. Just waiting on the Kodiaks to see which fly better. I always had good luck getting those big ACE heads to fly well! Good luck to you.

I use the same 125 gr Woodsman I use on deer and elk, so any of your choices should be adequate.

Im goin with the STOS as well. Don Thomas has killed tons of birds with 2blades. A bad shot is a bad shot with any head put it in the kill and you got turkey!

I'm on a roll with turkeys at the moment. Killed four in a row in Spring/Fall seasons. First bird was killed with a Muzzy four blade Phantom....dropped her in her tracks. The other 3 were all with Razorcaps and none went farther than 20 yards. The RC's are similar to the Woodsman.

Kenny's curtsy would be better with a kilt.
I think you should go with the woodsmen and your insert, if you can't score the 250 grain VPAs that you are looking for in the classifieds.

I am using 175 grains with those arrows, but my fingers probably act differently than yours. Maybe I should try heavier heads as well?

Three blades fly like field points if your spine isn't perfect, and will make a bigger hole or holes.
