Shadow Bows
« on: July 28, 2007, 07:23:00 AM »
Does anyone know what ever happened to Vince Yak? He built Shadow Bows. I beleive the most popular model was the Eclipse or Mirage. I was fortunate enough to buy a Phantom model back in 2000. 60" #50@28" with Elm linbs. Great bow. I just shot it for the first time in about a year and my first group of six arrows at 30 yards was about 6 inches. Would have been closer to 4" inches if not for the two flyers. I really love this bow. I heard that Vince retired. Shame if he did for us but good for him.
One stick, one string and an arrow I'll fling!

I  had a couple bows on order with him when he quit making bows. I called and talked to him and it seems like he just had too many other things going on in his life to find time to keep making bows. I still have my Shadow Eclipse 58" longbow. Some day I'll take it off the rack and see what I can do with it....maybe a Sring Turkey.
The best things in life....aren't things!
