I found one on me about 3 weeks ago after shed hunting one day. They are going to be horrible this year I'm thinking.

NEVER had a tick on me in all the time I'd hunted, fished and trapped in my part of south western Pa until 4 years ago! My how times have changed! Last fall after archery season was over in the fall I was pulling stands and must of picked a dozen off my pants in the couple hours it took. Damn things give me the creeps something horrible. Wish I knew what brought them here.

Since Texas has been so dry and with our fire ant population so bad, I haven't seen a tick in 10 years.

Got bit by one last week, I been pulling them off my pants for weeks now.  I shot a 3d this morning, it was 35 degrees so I didn't spray down with bug juice. By noon I had already picked a half dozen off my pants. No bites today though. I hate ticks!

Went looking for sheds with a buddy yesterday. I quit counting after the 30th one I picked off myself.

I have lived in colorado(lakewood)in town for 40 years and have never found a tick on us or our dogs. I just found one on my dogs ear the day before yesterday. Hopefully its a fluke, and not a sign that there going to be bad.Got alot of them two years ago hunting javelina in texas. I hate the things.

I have picked dzn's off in the past several weeks. Some as small as a pinhead. A little bug juice around my shirt coller, wrists and ankles with a long sleeve t shirt and long pants seems to help. I strip and inspect when I get home from the range. So far no bites.

I was walking around a sand pit yesterday, with shorts on,(working on my tan), when suddenly I felt something unnatural in my underwear. I ducked around a corner and dropped my shorts, and there he was, just smiling and waving at me. Kind of a 'Hi How Ya doin'. I didn't have a lighter to burn his little legs off, so I put him on rock and beat him with another rock.

I picked three of my two cats yesterday, here in Norway.
The special part is that it's ca 10" of snow outside...

We've had them active in MN for most of March.  I pulled one that got his teeth into me last week.  First time in years one actually got attached to me.  Looks like it will be a very active tick year.

I see mostly deer ticks now as compared to when I was growing up  it was all wood ticks and we never heard of a deer tick.

If my next question is hijacking this thread, please forgive me and do not respond, but it is related.

What is your favorite way to kill these these little buggers?

If I have my smoker going I love to put them on top of it. The smoker is not hot enough to kill them fast. You can actually see them trying to tiptoe around on it, saying ouchy, ouchy, ouchy and then they die.
