Bitten again by the traditiional archery bug
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:11:00 AM »
I haven't looked yet to see when my last  post was but am glad to report that I have come back yet again to the longbow scene.

My wife told me that she wanted her bow back up and running a few weeks ago. Yesterday I went to the archery shop with her and bought some waxed string and a few arrows.

I had to cheat and look up how to twist a Flemish string but got it after one (horribly failed) attempt. Liking riding a bike. Sort of.

Now I know that I want to get a string on my bow and give her heck. I would like to get all the materials to build arrows for myself as well as her. Probably check out 3 rivers for all I need. Hope to plunge head first into the scene again and hope to make a lasting hobby for her as well as reconnect with a passion I had almost forgot about.

Once a traditional archer, always a traditionalarcher I guess    :)

Someone had this as their tag and I thought it was so great that I copy and pasted it onto a sticky note on my desktop. I think it applies well you you,

"When how you take animals becomes more important than how big or how many, you'll make the switch. Simple as that. We'll be waiting. Good luck"

Tony, We got a good trad crowd here in ABQ! Make sure you are up at the SCBA archery range on April 21st for the Turkey 3D shoot. You will get set up with some great people.
