To much fun to be legal
« on: July 28, 2007, 08:57:00 AM »
We spent yesterday shooting Bow Birds with Wingshooters  Target thrower.
This is just to much fun to be legal. I always enjoyed bow Birds and Flu Flu's but it has been a problem getting a willing thrower to toss them for me. The Wingsahooters thrower is the cats meow. It has a trip chord that you release with your foot so you can do it yourself.

This review  will be the most fun to do of any I have done to date. I am off to the range today before it gets to hot and plan to hit that red spot or wear out a bow trying.

I am sure the compound shooters will be green with envy when they see the games we can play with a stick and string.

I'm going to practice on geese this winter in the neighbors pasture. from november to January there are litereally hundreds of them flying at tree top levels right behind my archery range.
This should be a lot of fun....and it IS leagal with a water foul stamp.

Pete,

Are there any plans posted on-line on how to build that contraption?  I'd like to have a go at building one of those machines...

Mike,
I updated the thrower to the new take down modle. As you can see in the  picture it is different than yours. This one you can take apart without tools to store or travel with. Outside of that they work the same.

It not only is a take down but it fits perfectly in my old compound soft case.
Instead of the sand bags to hold it down I use bungee chords and those screw in stakes for keeping rover at home.

I even had a compound shooter come over and try it ..... With a longbow! A quick lesson and he was shooting Flu Flu's at bow birds.

When he went back to his compound and picked it up he commented on how heavy it was. He said it weighed a ton after shooting the  19 ounce longbow.
A couple more days with us shooting Bow Birds and he will be rescued from the dark side.

Pete
