nah, I don't really get excited about the draw, do get really excited about the season opening. I know I'm going somewhere, if I don't get my first choice I know I'll get my second choice and if for some weird reason I don't get that, I know some good OTC areas. I'm just praying my gal/hunting partner's shoulder heals up in time for her to hunt.

I do lok forward to the draws. I also know that I'll hunt elk somewhere, God willing, but I sure do dream of a Gila unit tag one of these years! I have a plan B, C, and D if needed though

This will be the year my Son and I do a pack in DIY elk hunt together. I'm excited. My wife and I will tow the camper out and I'll get a basecamp set up about 8 miles in. Then my Son will fly out at some point during the season and hunt with me for about 10 days.
Woo Hoo!!!!
Our draw is sure...

I put in for New Mexico unit 16 in the Gila. On one hand Im really excited and hope to get drawn but on the other hand Im little worried about all the prep that has to happen If I get drawn. I will really need to get in shape. Get my horses ready. I guess thats all part of the fun.
Good luck to everyone.

My Credit Card was hit in AZ but it is probably my son's tag. Which is great as my best friend Russ Clagett's card was also hit. That means I will be camp host to my two favorite soldiers for an AZ Elk hunt. I've been dreaming of having the three of us in Elk camp together since my son first started drawing a bow.
I am already planning the meals but still waiting on AZ G&F to tell me which unit we are in.

Not too excited. Been putting in for 19 years in Colorado and if I hadn't messed up my application twice I could have drawn a tag by now. Instead I still have another year or two to wait.

I get excited every year, and continue to contribute to Wyoming Game and Fish without depleting the elk population. Maybe this year will be different

I find it hard to get too excited since I could hardly draw a guaranteed tag. But as soon as I see I drew a tag its game on!

Keeping my fingers crossed for NM, but not holding my breath. If all else fails, off to CO or Idaho for some OTC-style madness

Only put in for one area here in MT. Pretty sure I won't draw it. Might actually be mad if I do since I'm moving to Ohio this summer for grad school. What I really need now is some good places to go hunting there... If by some miracle I did get drawn, I'd definitely have to get another job so I could come back here and hunt. As it is, I still might have to do that
