Hey guys,
The Bow Hospital is looking for a beat up bow to refinish and donate to St. Judes auction. Let me know what you have.Remember it's for the kids. Thanks John

John,

That sounds like a terrific donation, and a fine idea.

When I read the title, it made me think of something else you might consider sometime in the future...

Some year, you might consider putting the actual refinishing service up for a bid, with one of the "perqs" being that the bow moves to the front of the line.

Gregg Coffey has done this for several years with the St. Jude's Shrew bow, and it is a little extra that comes for stepping up with a St. Jude's donation. No year wait, but a treasured bow ASAP!

Maybe there is some reason this would not seem like a good idea to you, but I figure there are a number of 'Gangers out there who have a special bow they would like to see spruced up. If two or more ended up interested at the same time, it could make for a nice bid!

Just food for thought!

Great idea John!  I've done that in the past and was overwhelmed with Trad Gangers generosity and offers.

Anyone offer one up yet?

I'm in California and drove my daughter out here to meet her homecoming Marine husband... His 2nd Afghanistan tour.

I have a RH Browning I can donate but I won't be back home until next week. I believe it is real nice walnut riser but it is dinged a bit. Got it for a steal off craggylist...  :)  I think it's 45#.

I'll check back next week.

I'll try to check back on TG in a few days.

If this'll work, PM me.

Thanks.

Bud

John,
I sent a Bear Grizzly to BowDoc several years ago to be refinished by him and then if he got it done have it put up in the St. Judes auction..It was a 57/58 year and I put a Dora "band aid" on it over the upper limb tip cause it had seperated and as a reminder for him that the limb tip needed reglueing...The bow was in the 40# range with leather grip ...Not sure Doc still has it or if he just set it aside but maybe if he hasn't the time then it can be sent to you? Would make a fine bow for the auction..I'll send him a p.m. and see if he responds and if he still has it cause I never seen it up on the auction yet and that's been 3 or 4 years ago when I sent it to him...I know he;s been very busy and backed up with customers but maybe he will send it to you to work on for the auction? John,
I'm not getting any response back from Bowdoc so maybe someone else has one that can be donated? Sorry I couldn't get hold of him and I sent a  p.m and left a thread in one of his recent posts showing his completed refinished bows...If he ever responds to me and he still has it and cann't find time to work on it would you still want to do it for anotherSt.Judes auction? Maybe I can somehow get him to send it your way..I do have a Pearson Colt that isn't bad but I refinished it about 15 years ago and it was my Dads but I could give ya that one..It doesn't have the weight written on it just the model number ..I know it was about 43/45 pounds...Keefers <><

John,
I just saw Bowdoc responded in the collectors forum that he was working on it now? My offer on the Pearson still stands if you want it...God Bless, Keefers <><

OK guys..not sure why no one's bitten on the Browning Wasp.

I'm home now.

It's 56" AMO. RH 45# @ 28

Green Glass. Original stickers.

BEAUTIFUL riser wood.

White tips with green glass outer layer.

Let me know if you want it for a rebuild. It'll need a new string if a string maker wants to jump in and assist.

If you're not interested in the Browning please let me know.

Thanks.

Bud
