Was looking at another site and came across a Don Brown woodsman longbow in new condition. the seller said it was her husbands bow and was shot just a few times. If you have never heard of Don Brown well he holds the world record for shooting an arrow with a hand held bow over 1,336 yards and a longbow speed record at 599fps. He also has a confirmed kill on a goat at 160 yards with a longbow. He is in the Califoria archery hall of fame and hold lots of Ca. state records. Don had his shop in Riverside Ca. He is best known for his arrows and his bows that he made by hand one at a time. Don died in 2001. and I now have one of the last if not the last longbow he made. the bow is 70"47@28 bamboo limb cores and bamboo on the back with osage on the belly and bocote and bamboo grib. the bow is top quality, made by a true master bowyer. hits where you look and is dead quiet with no felt hand shock. Just feel so blessed to own a bow that was made by someone like Don. Will try to post pics later. Jon

I have heard of Don.  He was as famous as my mentor Rube Powell.  Treasure that bow for ever.

Back in the 1970's when I was in junior high, the school library got Bow and Arrow and Archery magazine.  In one of them there was an article about Don Brown and how he was trying to break Howard Hill's bow wieght drawing record.  Cool piece of history you have there. Enjoy.

A bow that looks great and shoots great. You can't find a better deal than that.
