I had a Bear Montana and liked it pretty well. Like some others, I 'personalized' mine by reshaping the grip and adding a 'sure-grip'. I braced mine a little lower than some, but by experimenting with the brace-height you can find what works best for you. Also, trying a fast-flite string and a dacron string may provide you with a different feel with a preference of one type of a string over the another. I think the Montana is a good bow for the money and it's hard to go wrong with one(it doesn't seem like the prices drop too much on the auction site). I have been thinking about getting another one and adding some skin-eeze(snake skins) to dress it up. Another option is to try and find a used custom bow through the buy-and-sell, but depending on what you are looking for(style of longbow, length, draw weight, etc), you may have to wait a while to find the specs you want. Overall, I'd say the Bear Montana is a real good choice, good luck.
