I don't know how you define 'light', but I would shoot with the bow you intend to use most. With that said, I would shoot a poundage that would not distract me from my focus...too heavy of a bow and you will be thinking about that heavy weight.

No...I have a large Pillow bag hanging in my basement, can shoot from 5 yds away and I use it strictly for my form.

I shoot the bows I'm going to be hunting with. The only exception I made was when I started shooting Left handed. I then used a lighter bow to work on my draw, anchor position and release.

Now when I shoot during bad weather, it's my LH hunting bow.

I agree with joe skipp. I didn't have a string for my go to bow (71@28) for about a month so I shot a 38@28 bow at a bale to work on form. When I went back to my hunting bow WOW! It felt like I was trying to pull 100 pounds again. This is just my experience. I only shoot my heavy bow now, doesn't matter if I'm blind baling, practicing in the yard, 3D shoots, ect.

I blind bale shoot with all of my bows to help keep consistant form. I shoot 5 or 6 blind bale shots every time I pick up a bow wether I'm going to stump shoot, practice, shoot 3D, or before going to get on a stand to hunt.....it just makes me a better shot.
