The jacks did not want to play fair. Had to take long running shots on them.
Crawled on my hands and knees for about 75 yards +- to get a shot at this guy.
Got him. Only one but was fun trying for the rest of them.

Chased Jack Rabbits in Texas this Feb. They are a ton of fun. Good shooting
. My shot to contact ratio was not impressive. I did manage to get one. I dont think I will be eating anymore jack rabbits or atleast until I get a better recipe.
Your shooting always seems right on with the yotes.

They look a like our varying hares (snowshoe rabbits). Red meat, I suppose? I cook my hares by boiling them until the meat falls, or is easily pulled off the bone. Then I start browning them with flour and onions. I get a couple cans of cream of celery, or cream of potato soup (use what you think would work). I add potatos, carrots, celery, meat, etc. and just let it simmer on the stove for a while and serve as a stew. Quite good! It might work for jacks....?

For rabbits I usually cook them in a Dutch oven with onions and carrots and mini potatoes.
Salt pepper and oregano for flavour and red wine to soften the meat. Takes about 3-4 hours to cook up.

If they weren't waskelly it wouldn't be fun would it ?
Italian dressing marinade, and grilled. Need to have some dental floss ready though.
