Very Generous Gift
« on: April 17, 2012, 12:07:00 PM »
I just wanted to update ya'll on my son's journey with the trad bow and to personally AND PUBLICLY thank Donald Rowan (Nakohe) for the extreme gift of this bow. Ya'll all know it, but Donald is one heck of a guy. A few weeks ago, Donald graciously agreed to gift a bow to a person just starting in the trad bow world and my son Matt was fortunate to win the beautiful custom bow.  Matt has only been able to shoot it one session since receiving it. He is beginning a new job and has been very busy. Well he came into town the other day and he just had to shoot his "new" bow even though it was 9:00 at night. We set a target up in the backyard where the lights would shine. Here he is, I think he has pretty good form for a beginner, and it will get better. We are matching up arrows now and he's thinking PIG HUNT soon with his coworker in texas. Again, thanks Donald for the generous gift, you are da man!

BTW, the bow is simple beautiful, can sling an arrow with authority and quiet as any recurve I've ever seen. I will try and take better pics of Matt and pics of the bow itself which is a masterpiece.  It was built by Charley Lamb himself, OH MY, what an added bonus!         :clapper:

Texas Ebony and Bacote riser with beautiful Bacote veneers.

I hope one day to do the same, thanks again Donald.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

I tell you Kook, he's so fired up at the thought of sticking a pig with that thing it's reaching fever pitch!

He will keep his shots close for now.

None better than Donald Rowan! I had a Longbow for trade a while back on the classifieds, Donald messaged me and said he had a nice bow for trade that was a little heavy for him, So we agreed on the trade and a couple days later the Bow shows up in a little box. I open it up just to be amazed! The Bow that was a little to heavy was a Black Widow, PLX Locket Socket Take Down! I PM'd him and asked that he was sure he sent the right Bow..LOL..he assured me it was.

So congrats on the Bow     I would expect no less from "Nakohe"

Rob..

Oh, he's a killa and very determined Graybark!

I suspect if he gets a break from work long enough, something will bleed.
