I just finished shooting the Rainy day several times this afternoon/evening.
The bow came packed very securely in a plastic arrow box inside a cardboard box. Ingenious way to protect a bow during shipping!
It came in socks and with padding. Included were spare strings with installed Whiskers and Brass Nock locator and a bow stringer. The bow is a LH, 60", 50#@28". It came in at 45.2#@my 26" draw on my Easton Digital Scales.
I shot some newly built Beman MFX Classics in 500 spine out of the bow. These arrows are 27.25" long and weigh 507 grains. These arrows are going to a lightless continent with me in 2.5 months.
In my first two ends I smacked arrows both times -- scared me because I don't like to damage arrows (I know)!
The bow is smooth-drawing and as quiet as my best rigs right out of the box.
I put it through my chronograph. It shot within 1-2 FPS of all my other 44-45# recurves including Widows and a Predator (153 FPS at my 26" draw)
The colors in the woods are very distinct and bright, probably due to the gloss finish? The limb fit to riser is very secure with tight tolerances. It is easy to put together with no movement at all before or after strung.
The bow was solid in my hand with no vibration after the shot.
This is a remarkably affordable bow considering the wood combinations, smooth drawing, and performance.
The only thing I'd want different on this bow would be a satin finish. But I realize this is a "show" bow to highlight the workmanship.
I'll be moving it to Art George next.
Thanks for letting me check out your bow George!
