Hi Kerwin. The Lemkover Leaves bow camo is available at 3Rivers archery:
Lemkover Leaves . I have considered an alternative to them: either buying some
QAD Sneakyleaves and pinning them to the bow sock, or taking some of the "trimmings" from my ghillie suit and sewing those to the bow sock (you need to trim the ghillie anyway for string clearance--might as well find a use for the scraps).
I bought my ghillie from Cabelas; it is the older "lightweight" model with strips of cloth(not the stringy "ultra-lightweight" version) and is a pant/jacket combo (its actually made by Rancho Safari). I bought it last winter when it was on clearance. I have heard that the 3/4 parka version may be a better choice because it breaks up the "bipedal" silhouette of a human better than a version with distinct legs. Mine looks like the "waterfowlers" version seen here, but in Advantage Timber camo:
Cabelas 3D Camo .
If you do eventually decide to buy a pre-made suit or parka, you could just take a trip to Cabelas or buy the Shaggie Longcoat from 3Rivers (I visited the 3Rivers warehouse this summer--really fun and great folks to do business with). It looks like the Hazelwood Cabelas is less than two hours from you. I would give them a call and see if they have some of the ghillie and/or leafy wear suits (the leafy wear suits, as opposed to a full ghillie suit, should be much less bulky and obtrusive) in stock for you to try on--it may give you some ideas and/or guidance as you build your own. One day I'll try making my own, should be a lot of fun. Good luck!
