New Turkey Decoy on the market
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:40:00 AM »
Lots of talk lately about decoys. Here's one I have some experience with. We tested it in NE last spring and my buddies from VA have been using it a few years with great results. I know it may not be legal in some states but if it is in yours you might want to check it out. I tagged out yesterday am. had 3 longbeards come right in and shot one 4 yds from decoy. No pics of this one on here.   attacktrack.net   good luck this season. Don

In my mind that is just wrong.  I will never use a decoy like that.  What has happened to the 'tradition' in hunting?  Not just with us here but everywhere.  There are electro mechanical decoys and all kinds of gizmos all over the market that have dumbed down the hunting community to be just game killers and not hunters.  What ever happened to the whole idea of woodcraft and outsmarting animals on their level?  I will reiterate my signature line "Technology has it's place and hunting isn't it!!"

OK, off my soap box now..........do whatever floats your boat, it's your tag.

Pete, that was quite a rant....

Don, I have no doubt that thing would be killer!!

I can't afford to buy one...but I have no doubt that system would draw in the weariest of gobblers.

Very cool....

Yeah Curt I guess it was.  I know that ethics in hunting are a very personal thing.  After all who really gives a rip, right?  And I shouldn't...........but I do.

Can we post an anatomy picture that includes the size of a turkey's brain? I know those birds down south get pressured a lot more than our birds. Maybe they are unkillable without the help of some mechanical decoys? A bird with a pea size brain is still too much for me but I'll keep trying to "outsmart" one!(Plus, I'm broke and they are illegal in Michigan). Bet it would be fun to watch them come in!

I have always wanted to take my son's old battery operated, remote control off road truck and put a hen decoy on it, then run it around the field.  Maybe have a second one with a strutting gobbler on it.  Hide it and then walk him over to the blind.  Bet THAT would work.

Electronic turkey decoys are, to the best of my knowledge, illegal in Wisconsin.
