A visit with the Man ( Chuck @ Two Tracks ! )
« on: April 21, 2012, 04:48:00 PM »
We. ( longbowguy & myself) took a 4 hour drive (there & back) today to pick up our bows & visit with Chuck @ Two Tracks . I was like a kid at Christmas as I turned Chuck loose with only some basic specs for what I wanted, I told Chuck I  wanted a longwalker & the poundage I wanted & that I wanted to use Michigan woods (another pure Michigan bow)  other than that I didn't tell him what woods to use, I left that up to him to surprise me, he knows what looks better than I do & I didn't want to distract him with a bunch of my rules.  This is my second bow from Chuck (that should tell you what I think of Chuck & his bows    ;)  )  I have the world of confidence in Chuck and he came thru today as expected with two beautiful bows !

Longbowguy (Kai ) & myself were two happy campers on the way back home. Mine is 50# & made from Walnut & Maple & I will have to let Kai (longbowguy) chime in later with his specs, I can only remember his has a lot of ossage in it.

Chuck can add more info when he see's the post.

No need to PM me asking what I think about Two Tracks Bows, this is my second one & longbowguy (a good friend) also picked up his today as he liked what Chuck did on my first one & he knew how happy I was with it. Don't tell Chuck we were both talking about getting another bow from him on the 2 hour ride back home    ;)   ( That Ambush is a sweet looking little bow & I Chuck tormented me with a peek at a prototype bow in the works ! ) I think you can figure out that I would recommend a TwoTracks bow.

Thanks Chuck !

Below is both my TwoTracks bows, the one on the right I got over a year ago, it convinced me I needed another one    :bigsmyl:

I have a short draw length (a little over 26 inches) so Chuck let me go with a 60 inch length as I prefer a shorter bow for hunting, I know Kai's bow is 64 inches.

Chuck makes some awesome bows, just looking at the pictures explains that.

I'm proud to say that I own an Ambush, and don't ever see myself selling it.

I'm on my second Longwalker myself and really appreciate the work Chuck does on the bows he makes. Top notch without a bunch of overblown hype! His prices are hard to beat too! Chuck and Chris make some of the finest wool products too. So, Chuck has a prototype? Hope he has one to display and play with at Compton's!

Beautiful bows there Dan!!!

Chuck is top shelf!! No doubt! First time I ever met him he treated me like he had known me for years. His bows are definately top quality as well (Wish he would venture into making a Hill Style Longbow.....thats a hint Chuck!) and his wool products are second to none also. I spoke to Chuck just last week and will be getting a Longhunter vest hopefully this year. Wish I could drive 4 hours and hang with him for a day!

Cool stuff Dan, thanks for sharing. I am sure you and that new bow will get along real well!!!

Regards,

Sweet bows! A LongWalker is on my short-list.

You guys are too kind. Thanks for the good words.
I have some pics to post for Dan and Kai, I am not sure if it captured the grains very well but here they are.
Dans bow is some nice walnut with Maple and
Kai's bow is some wild osage and walnut.
I used a new riser glue up for this pair of bows.
As always,Strings by OLIVERSTACY.
Thanks again

I'm glad Chuck didn't reveal anymore secrets! Nice work on those bows. Even the osage one.  ;)  (Chuck knows I'm NOT an osage fan). It does look good on your bow Kai!

Wow Chuck, both of those bows look great.  Is the prototype top secret until Compton or are you going to let it out of the bag before then????

Well Hello Fellas, I guess Dan pretty much told everyone what we think of the great looking bows we recieved from Chuck @ Two Tracks! I'm just amazed of the way these Longwalker bows turned out. Chuck is a great guy to work with. I was thinking the same way Dan did, by talking to chuck and disssucing which woods would look well with Michigan Osage (chuck came up with walnut) and then "turning Chuck loose with configuration".  Thanks again CHUCK !!!!     Specs : Longwalker (pure michigan) osage with walnut riser, and core ,50# @ 28" 64" long. By the way, the pics doesn't do the bows justice!!  :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :clapper:
