stumping heads, what do you use?
«

i go stumping often and i'm still looking for the holy grail of a stumping head! just started using regular filed points with Muzzy Grasshoppers which fly GREAT however at $12 for 3 i still tend to break them enough where it is not cost efficient. was wondering if you could use a washer of some sort like a grasshopper?? also use the small game head "the Hammer" which also works great but have broke (lost) one of them when my carbon hit a rock and looked like a claymore explosion! will brake down and by some 200 grain Ace hex heads next. i need a head of at least 200 grains to get good flight from my set up. any suggestions???

Traditional Bowhunter Magazine had a stumping head build in I believe the March edition. Worth checking out.

I just use good old 125-grain Judo points or blunt field points. Both work very well for me. Right up until they hit rocks....
I guess that doesn't help you though. Could you take a .38 shell casing and add enough solder to bring it to the weight you need. I did have one buddy who placed .38 cases on the end of wooden arrows and punched 2 nails through at perpendicular angles. They were OK and they didn't bury. Hell on squirrels too.

Judos mostly for me, I save moola because I rarely lose 'em. I also shoot the big rubber blunts in the rocks up in the mountains, they even worked on a big Dusky grouse with a head shot...I'm not sure what they weigh, but they're heavy.

Rubber blunds ang judo on wood fir stafts , personaly it is the reason that all I shoot is wood.
I make my shafts simple ,a few coats of poly, flethes , nock and point.
I want to fling an arrow on any whim without being concerned about cost or labor.

Hey Ken! Why not try a glue on Judo with a steel broadhead adapter inside... Works for me...
