Rubber blunts are the cheapest......slide it over your field pt so you get the weight you want......and stop shooting at rocks!   :readit:  You can then put them on and off so you can target shoot or stump.......I keep try'n to teach you   :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

In thick grass, nothing beats Judo's.  But most other times I use Hex Heads.

I have taken regular blunts and inserted them into a small chunk of plywood, drilled to fit snug, then drilled a concave spot across the entire face of the head (need to use a much larger drill, like 1/2").  Although not as good as a hex head, because the hex heads are sharper and wider,  they are as cheap as you are gonna get and do a better job than straight blunts.

Another vote for Ace Hex heads.

I don't go stumping, I go roving instead and when I do, I use a standard field point.

Had great luck w/judos forever. Now I make my own per the "homemade judos" in the archives. These really work well for about 50 cents a head to any weight you want. PM for more.

Hex head on a footed carbon.   :readit:
You will likely have to glue your nocks back on when you hit a rock. That's why I sent you extra.

When one goes stumping, they shoot at wooden stumps. That's fine for carbon or footed carbon arrows. I shoot thin walled 2212 aluminum arrows. Hit a hard stump with a 2212 and the 2212 will be history.

When I go roving, I shoot at large pine cones, large oak or sycamore leaves which lay on the ground. These targets don't destroy my arrows. I also shoot at anomalies I find on dirt banks.

I've never bent or split my aluminum 2212s when I go roving.

I really like judos. If I hit a rock and break an arrow; well, it happens.
If I miss, judos help me find that arrow in the grass or pine needles.
They are no more expensive than hex blunts.
If you need the extra weight, let me know, and I will modify the brass inserts for you.

Steel blunts (favorite) and rubber blunts. FYI, when I shoot aluminum I cut down a threaded field point into a very short steel blunt that I then put under one of those smaller 58 grain rubber blunts. This prevents the open end of the aluminum shaft from coming through the blunt after a while, extending the life of the blunt. Should work for carbon shafts as well.
Keep flinging those shafts!

The Holy Grail of stumping heads IMO is the Zwickey Judo.  Get the 125 gr. 5 degree taper ones for woodys and glue in a 75 gr. steel adaptor to get your 200 gr. min.  Been shooting some individual Judos for years with hundreds of shots to their credit....still going!
