Barronett Blinds
« on: April 22, 2012, 08:27:00 PM »
Well, I went and purchased one. It the Grounder 350. After a couple of weeks trying to find a blind locally, I was frustrated and ordered this brand of blind. It seems that for the price, I am getting the best bang for the buck.I shoot a longbow so I think I need the height.

Does anyone else have experience with this brand or model? If so, how do you fair with the blind?

Thanks!

Martin

You absolutely can't go wrong with this blind.  You can almost hold a square dance in it.  With 80" on height shooting any bow is a non issue.

Hey Martin,

I have the same blind and hunted out of it yesterday morning for the first time. I am very satisfied! For the money this was a great purchase in my book. The only thing I would suggest is that if you are gonna hunt just inside the woods or in the woods you may want to do some prior tree/limb clearing due to the larger size. Extremely comfortable for two people and their gear. Enjoy!

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

Tracy,
I did do a search before I posted. I could see that some folks liked it. However, some had said that they had to stand to take a shot. I don't think I will have a problem with that.

David,

I purchased it from MidwayUSA. $171.xx including shipping. If a sponsor here sold it, I would have bought it from one of them. It was one of the questions asked in my search.

Mark,

Awesome! How did you do? Two people is good. My son is right handed and I left. My hope is that we cover the most amount of view for shooting out of the blind. Its good to hear your advice. I will certainly clear tree limbs. (:

Bernie,

Thanks for your post. You made me feel better.

What you were reading was "buyers remorse." I have been looking for blinds for some time just not able to make a decision. Turkey in my part of the world opens this upcoming weekend and I felt my hand forced because of time. As it is, I will have two day to practice out of the blind.

Last weekend was the Junior Hunter special Season. We missed that because, I wanted to have a blind to hunt out of but couldn't find one. I know I should have purchased this much further in advance, but the stars had not aligned until a week or so ago.

Thanks for your replies!

Martin

I just got a  Barronett  Big Mike off of **** , 135$ shipped. If you get the new model , it has the snake eye windows that allows you to shoot from the sitting position. The blind is 80 in.tall so you can also stand to shoot.

I have a Barronette, forget which model, but it's big enough to dance in! I think the windows are too high, but a little trenching to set the base down in, cures that.

I've hunted hogs out of the 350 with two men and it's great. I just bought one for myself for turkeys. My buddy shot a hog out of it standing up with a 64" longbow. Plenty of room.

Got mine for $100 bucks at a sporting goods chain store. The windows are a little high. Mine stayed up all deer season with no problems.
