I've got an incomplete list but can't find some things in storage right now. "A Friend of Gold" by myself. Bowhunter Magazine, Aug/Sept. '93 issue; "Cape Buffalo" by Paul himself in the same issue. An interview with Paul Schafer, by myself, in an Aug./Sept. issue of (I believe) Bowhunter or Traditional Bowhunter magazine. I have the copy but don't have the original handy. "A Weekend With Schaf", Professional Bowhunter magazine by myself, in Vol. 29, Number 1, First Quarter 2007. The same article is also a chapter in my book, "Once Upon A Tine" (
www.brothersofthebow.com)). "Yesterday's Hero.. Tomorrows Legend" by myself, Traditional Bowhunter magazine, Aug./Sept. '93 issue. Fall Hunting Preview, Supplement to Consumers Press 2001, "The Paul Schafer I've Come to Know" by Chris Murphy. Outdoor Montana, "Looking at his Achievements" (about Paul Schafer) by Jeff Mayer, April 27, 1994 Great Falls (MT)Tribune. "Schafer.. A Legend in his own Time" by Mark Downey, Great Falls Tribune. "Paul Schafer 1949-1993" by Paul Brunner in Bowhunting News, Vol. 4, issue 9, March '93. Montana Bowhunters Association publication, "The Paul Schafer I Knew" by Robert Windauer, Vol 21, #1, Sept. 1993. Kalispell (MT) News (Interlake), Jan. 29, 1993 an extensive newspaper article about Paul called Smoke Signals by Lew Bain. Mr. Bain was the father of Ron Bain, who was a close friend and college roommate of Paul's. Ron was the fullback for MSU when Schaf was a running back. There was also a feature article about Paul by Jeff Murry (I believe it was in Sports Afield, Field & Stream or Outdoor Life magazine but I don't have it handy. I'm told Bob Windauer is presently writing a book about Paul Schafer. Knowing Bob, I'll guarantee he'll do an excellent job upon completion. Paul Schafer was an amazing man and in my opinion the best all around bowhunter who ever lived. BW
