Several people from Washington and surrounding states had a great time this past April 13-15 at the annual "Rock Shoot" sponsored by the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington.

I know at one point we had 365 shooters registered.  But feel this may not have been the total number even though it was a record attendance for our shoot.

We had vendors present that met all or most of our needs and many guys trading and selling from their private collections.  Many sales and trades were made.     :goldtooth:

I personally came home with 3 new beauties too add to my collection.     :biglaugh:

First a double shelf,  original condition  1954 bear Static tipped 47# Grizzly if awesome condition.

A very nice 1954 58# "Compass Kodiak" double shelf recurve....   :D

And last, but definitely not least, a truly beautiful original 50# 1964 50# Kodiak. This bow is a rocket launcher form another era.     :jumper:        :jumper:

Sounds like lies to me. I don't see any photos.

Well, it's not raining at the moment and I've been gone two weeks.... After knocking the lawn down today while it's dry, I'll try and get some taken and up tonight.

Had to look a bit for the cord to download...here ya go..... I'm happy with them let me know what you think...BTW, the static tipped Grizzly looks like new and none have stress marks nor crazing.

I'm not sure why they are so big as all pictures were re-sized to T/G specs. on photobucket before posting them here??

The Compass Kodiak, also a 54 and a dual shelf bow has seen a bit more use as seen in this comparison picture... still it has straight limbs, great tiller and shoots sweet...again there are no stress marks nor crazing on the limbs....

I think the earlier glass Bear used in those days may have been less prone for this than some used in later production bows ??

A strung profile of the Compass Kodiak.. any advise as to the best shelf and side plate material would be appreciated.. Also, what are your thought's on restoring it, as it could definitely use a new  leather grip wrap and there is one decal needing replacement on belly side of top limb ??

Excellent find Gene, it looks like you hit the Trad bow jack pot. I hope to own a 54 compass bow one day!  :clapper:    :clapper:
