BW bow company
« on: April 23, 2012, 10:29:00 PM »
Just wanted to throw this out there. Last week I was having a heck of a time trying to tune some recently purchased carbons to my BW recurve. I called BW and explained my problem. The lady put me on the phone with a fellow, (I believe his name was Vern) and he asked me several questions regarding my setup. He eventually gave me an arrow recommendation as well as walked me through my entire bow setup. Now, alot of what he recommeded was counter to advise I had recieved elsewhere, (like several local pro shops) I thought "what the heck". I followed his recommendation and ordered a half dozen, set up exactly the way he recommended. This was late Monday afternoon. On Wednesday morning I recieved the arrows in the mail fletched, weighted inserts, ready to go. After some minor adjustments I get better performance  out of this bow, with these arrows than I ever did before. In an age of really crappy customer service and misinformation the people at BW have really go above and beyond. Oh, and I have also learned to stop seeking advise on trad gear from guys that predominantly deal with and shoot compound bows.

Black Widow's customer service is AWESOME!  Never hear them knock another company and always VERY helpful.  One of the reasons that I shoot their bows!

Wow!!!!  A positive thread on BW for a change.  I have been a customer since about 1992 and they have ALWAYS treated me wonderfully well.  I do not like to see anyone bashing the manufacturers who support our forums and provide us with such great products, but for some reason, there is a group which does this on a regular basis to the Widow company. In my opinion, BW is as good as any and better than most in every respect.

Yep, great customer service. One of the only companies (archery or otherwise) that I have had dealings with that went above and beyond my expectations.

I was not the origional owner and had a problem with one of there risers I sent it back to have them check it out and they made me a new riser at no cost to me not even for shipping NOW I tell you it does not get any better as far as customer service! I love there bows and the Blackwidow fokes. I sold all my other bows made by someone else and ordored a new one from them that will make three of there bows I own and can't say it will stop at that.  Widow

My dealings with Roger and the rest of the BW team has been nothing if not an outstanding display of superior customer service and they even seem to enjoy it....imagine that!

The art and mystique of traditional archery remains consealed from today's generation of high tech mechanics and product consumption.

No need to blame the local shops of today and no need to force our way of life and commitment upon them. Most are doing their best with the limited knowledge they possess. The larger the trad community becomes the more the local shops will become educated. For right now, that may be many years out if ever at all.

We are fortunate though to have many excellent and supportive resources. Black Widow is an excellent example as they have also established the benchmark of excellence.

Most modern bow shops know very little about setting up trad bows. Unless there is a trad shooter that actually works there and identifies himself as "trad" I wouldn't listen to anything they would have to say about setting up trad gear.

Vernon has helped me many times. Like all the B/W staff, he is a great guy and I probably owe him a backstrap or two.
