Ameristepstep Blind Question
« on: April 29, 2012, 06:12:00 PM »
I can get the blind up properly.

I can get the blind down properly, but after I collapse the top, I can't fold the blind to get it back into the carrying case.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  Jim

When taking down push top in first. Then push in all the sides. It should then kinda turn inside itself. The inside middle hubs will be at one end and the bottom corners of the blind will be at the other.

Hope that helps. Once you do it a few times is is easy.

What Rob said,  if you do it that way, it virtually folds itself up

It just takes practice. When I got my Penthouse, I looked how it was folded when I took it out of it's case. Then I watched how it unfolded. I just reveresed the order.

Too many people get in a hurry to take it out of it's case and don't pay attention how it unfolds. Then, when they want to re-fold it to put it back in it's case, they have trouble.

Is yours the outhouse version. If so first lay it is it is flat on the ground with the top pointing away from you you feet at the base. Lift up the base and bend it tward the top until it almost touching then twist you should then feel it Want to fold. If this doesn't work pm me and I'll email a photo of the instruction. Take care. Merle

the trick with this model is Start from the base not the top

My suggestion is to never force the blind into position.  Frustration got the best of me one day and I split two fiberglass rods.

Mine has directions with pictures attached to it. After an extended period I find myself checking out the folding instructions. Good luck.

Top first is how I do mine.  Instructions are the same as the bone collectors.

Practice this so you get it right 10 out of 10 times BEFORE you take it in the field.

I've had both Doghouse and Outhouse. I dont follow the directions completely. I practice with my eyes closed and this helps alot. I just do it by feel. If the bands don't bend/fold one way then ,normally, they will bend/fold another.
