I know it's not on your "want" list, but I would strongly suggest that you check out the Ambush bow made by Two Tracks (TG Sponsor). I have one that is 49# @28", and is 50" tip to tip. this bow is an absolute powerhouse. No noticeable finger pinch, and throws a 630 grain hunting arrow with authority. Very light in the hand, and the best part I like about it is the fact that I can sit flat on my butt and shoot the bow normal.

You might also want to check with Mike Steliga of Bruin Bows. He makes some nice looking, very smooth pulling short bows. He's in Antigo WI.
