Very good looking. I would like to hear more about tapping out the end of the tang. Did it go the same direction as the slit? I guess the pommel is not attached to the tang?
what did you use to cut the slit?
G
right here we go!.....bodger is my mate ,he had a bull of the dexter breed called billy,it was slaughtered and went in the freezer the bones came to me via his dogs who chewed all the meat and marrow off it!
i tapped out the end of the tang painstakingly with a ball payne hammer, just splayed it out all over then sanded flatish and then pollished, the pommel is attached to the tang and is fitted before the tang end is flattened.
to cut the slit i used a fine drill bit and drilled holes inline then wiggled the drill bit to 'join'the holes into a slit.
hope this helps!
