i am a 20 year tree trimmer by trade. 2 things you MUST do
1 be tied in before your feet leave the GROUND
2 it VERY easy to spike your ankle with these things, we quit using them 8-10 years ago.

Lineman wear extra TALL boots for that reason. I have a pair of them. Bought them new tried em out and they are still in the garage. Maybe we can work out a trade if you want to try them. I would NOT climb a tree with them, but in a tree saddle they may be good for moving around.

Not enough leg/ankle support for me with those things. Been using arborist tree spikes and a loc-on stand since 1992 exclusively. Just upgraded to aluminum shanks last year...nice and light. Never had an injury....yet.
Safer than driving a vehicle, imo.
