Palmer is a better bow, especially considering the cost of a Widow.  Definitely faster and a better grip.  I have ordered 3 new bows from Palmer, he usually is in the ballpark with delivery times but it’s worth the wait. Mike builds every bow so he's not like Widow and building them on a production scale so you can't compare that.  I’ve sent bows back to Mike for repair and he’s done everything to my satisfaction.  He might not be the most charming person around, but he is honest and hasn’t screwed anyone I know.

There are several used like new Palmers in the classifieds if you need one right away.

If you are talking new, Widow is definately the way to go.  TheWidow Works dudes are among the finest on the planet and that goes a long way with me.  Their customer service is among the best in the business and their product is top-shelf.

I have only had one Palmer.  I bought it used and it was an absolute dream to shoot, but it was LOUD!  Never could quiet that bow down.  I would probably buy another used Palmer some day.

The answer would likely be most discernable if I could shoot each thru your hands.

I'll second what Big Ed said.  I've shot Widows for 17 yrs.  I always got the standard grip.  I shot one with a different grip that they offer, and that fit me much better.  You can "test drive" a Widow

I purchased 2 new Palmers about 10 years ago and still have them.  I've had no problems at all and they shoot just as good today as they did then.  They are fast and accurate and the grips are really good too.

I recently purchased a used PCH V and I must say that that bow is a great shooting bow.  It's plenty fast and very forgiving of my shooting flaws.  It's also very accurate and pulls really smooth too.

I bet you would be very satisfied with either one.

Good luck with your decision.
