Acadian Woods longbow (Treestick)??
« on: July 30, 2007, 10:08:00 PM »
I bought a used Acadian Woods Treestick one piece longbow and it came in the same day as my new Horne bow came.

All I can say is, WOW!! This bow is probley the most accurate shooting longbow I've shot to date. The bow just fits me perfect. Love the way Tim buids his riser grip and the rise in the shelf.

Probley not the fastest I've got, but the most stable and very quiet. The specs. are 62" AMO, 62# @ 28", so it probley about 65-67# @ my draw. It's got to be the smoothest 65-67# longbow I've pulled. I need to put it on a scale to be sure it's really that heavy. It's not fussy at all with arrow spine and just shoots darn good. This has got to be the best $250.00 I've ever spent on a bow. LOL!

This bow is 4 years old and cut to center, the newer ones are cut 3/16" past center and will be one I will keep my eyes open for. Anybody have one of the newer ones they want to trade for a Horne Brush Bow?   :D    :knothead:

Who else is shooting an Acadian Woods Treestick one piece and loving their's as much as I am mine??

I love mine!  I have a 56" treestick and I liked it so much I got another!  Now I have a 53# and my baby is 60#.  The first picture is the results of my New Year's Day hunt and the second is from a couple years ago with Tim Mullins and some buddies!

Greg, great pictures! How long is your draw? A 56" Tree Stick would be sweet! Maybe a little too short for me and my right at 30" draw.

Anybody else shooting these sweet shooting bow?

Gregg,

Here's a few quick pictures I just took of the bow. It's pretty much plain jane. Bubinga riser and osage limbs with the bubinga tip accent inlays. Great shooter!

LOL! You got that right Dave. I think I'm going to stop and play with this Acadian, Vortex, and the Horne for a while though, before I continue. LOL!   :knothead:

Mike,
I had the pleasure of meeting Gregg and his two children a couple weeks ago at Warren Womack's "Redneck Bottle Shoot", Gregg's a super nice guy and a verrry good shot, he bullseyed a bottle about about 18 yards......shooting through a 1 1/2" opening between two trees that was about 5 yards in front of him. As we were backing away from him before he shot, Gregg turned to us, grinned and said "yaw don't have much faith in me" drew and nailed the bottle.

I'll agree! There is no equal at anyprice for consistant hunting accuracy.

I struggled so hard to regain lost consistancy for several years. I always assumed it was me. I spent $ thousands on big name longbows.

I almost quit...then orderd an Acadian woods.

I can't freakin wait for hunting season!!!!

Wahoo!

Thanks Tim,

Tedd

Thanks peak98. It was a very pleasant surprise.

I bought it because I've never shot one. At 67# at my draw I figured it would be too heavy to be comfortable. My plan was to shoot it get a feel for the grip and see if I liked it and start looking for one in my weight range, then sell this one. Well, this has got to be either the smootest 67# or it's lighter than it's marked, so it ain't going no where just yet.   :D    ;)

I looking for a 53# @ 28" (57#-60# at my draw) right now.  :knothead:

Tedd, yep it's one of the easiest shooting longbow I've shot. Very stable.

Gregg, looks like ya'll have an over population of pork....Y'all need any help, just let me know.   :D    :goldtooth:

Mike, I lost the lease I had so I'm pig deprived.  Had one shot at a boar this year on my deer lease and I blew it!

I have the memories of great action, great friends, and even some video to look back on.

I got a three piece Treestick, does that count ?
Now that we've exhausted all possibilities, lets get started.
