I am looking at recurves..for instance. Bear Grizzlies come in 56 & 58" .. Does 2 inches make any difference in any way?

On a very short bow 52" two inches can mean a lot.60 on up not so much.My favorite length is 58" but I notice some finger pinch at below that.My .02 says go with the longer if possible if you get a griz.I think they only made the Griz. in 56" a long time ago.Kip

Really depends alot on your draw length.  If your draw length is really short like 26" or under you can get away with a shorter bow but if your draw length is around the 28" mark you'll probably be more comfortable shooting the longer bow.  Many would also say the longer bow will be more accurate all else being equal as there is less finger pinch and less string angle.

Absolutely. I start getting finger pinch at 56" even with my short draw. All my bows are 58" and 60" for that reason. I also think "Most" bow designs begin to get less forgiving to shooters form mistakes at less than 58".

Go with the 58" Grizzly. Your fingers (and accuracy) will thank you for it.

Although I have had a short Trad career so far (only two years now), I can tell you I was probably one of the biggest proponents in believing it was best to shoot the shortest bow you could ..... that was until I shot a Dan Toelkee Super D at 64" (my draw is only 25 1/2" for LB and 26 1/2" for recurve).  BY BY 56" recurves!  My consistency have improved dramatically.

Having said that, I do believe that you can get more performance with a short bow as long as it is not too short, but your form needs to be good and that's sometimes hard in a treestand.

but like everyone else said. the longer the better!! I have tried again and again with shorter bows and always go back to 60 & 62".

Big difference my draw is only 27" and I like
a 60" bow. But, I have started to like 62"
as of late.

My draw is only 26.5", but I prefer the 58" grizzly over the 56".

I have a 30" draw, and everyone recommends a longer bow, but I have a couple that are 60" and I love them,  especially when you shoot from the ground ,

I have 3 bows, and in order of accuracy from most accurate to least for me:

62"  Osprey
60"  River Runner
58"  Grizzly

It's probably indicative of a consistent form flaw, but the 2" difference is noticeable in terms of where the arrow goes for me.
