Beautifully done!!

South is as honest as they come.  I met him a few years before he started building bows; in fact I shared a 'honey-hole' with him on condition he not print its location in his stories.  He hunted there several times; killed some incredible game and kept his word to me.  He's always welcome in my home!

I have one of South's Tracker take down longbows. It looks very much like the bow Ferret is shooting except that it is a long bow. I am a recurve shooter and when I won the bow I was amused and thought that having a long bow on the wall would be nice and would add something to the recurve bows already there. However, when I got the bow I was amazed at how well I could shoot it. Very fast, very quiet, and accurate!!!! I'm pleased that I got it in a weight that I can shoot well. Somewhere down the road I will  have to get a pair of his static recurve limbs that are made to fit my riser.

First, Saying that you have not seen a bow that will surpass that craftsmanship is quite a statment. It says a lot about the integrity of the bowyer!!! I have never seen one of South's bows in person but I have studiously looked them over in the threads on here. A lot of this because they closely resemble my own tastes in what a bow should look like. I agree with you. It would be difficult to surpass the quality of work that he does. It is admirable and it is gorgeous to behold.
I believe that there are several bowyers that do this quality of work but honestly. Its as good as is humanly possible to get IMHO.
The bow design is top notch too. I see lots of nicely crafted bows with less than stellar design.

This bow is one that nearly has it all. I say that in that there is always room for improvement./ At least that is how I see life itself/ I would bet that South will somehow , someday be one of those guys that actually finds a way to do that./

God bless you all and congratulations on your fantastic bow. Steve

I just went back and noticed in the shot picture the arrow just leaving the bow and the forward curve of the string. Very interesting shot what the bow is doing on release. I would love to see a slow mo pic of the string and limb action at that point. I bet it would be something else to behold!!!!
This could give us an entirely differant meaning to string follow.

God bless you all,
Steve

TJ the backstop is a matter for concentration.   :biglaugh:

I have put a lot of arrows through it the last few days. It is every bit of bow as i could expect.

Beautiful bow and the one I sold was too and it shot really well that did hurt to sell it.

I'd love to get a Schuller built but then I'd have to strugle with how bad do I want a Sixby LB. I have 3 other builds coming Steve before I can send you anything first to start.

That string is really interesting shows me what what I thought is differant to about the relationship of string and arrow release's. I know it did with me anyways.

Beautiful bow they really are great bows and reasonably priced.
