Ever do something stupid
« on: May 13, 2012, 04:03:00 PM »
Like cut your string with a broad head?. Was chassing jack rabbits and some how cut my string with a broad head . Got lucky just started to unwind only hit two strands. Got the bow un bowed in time. Scary moment. Be carfull out there and watch what your doing . I have scars from a string break years ago. Like a bomb going off in your face.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.

Don't fret about it, it's over and I am sure you learned your lesson and will be more careful in the future.

I sat a recurve ( kids bow 20#) on the table and my cat chewed the string, it scared the crap out of him and me.

I left a puppy in my camper for a little while once and it chewed my bowstring in half, when I got back to let him out, he was cowering under the table. I couldn't figure out what the deal was until a few hours later when I went to hit the woods...good thing I had a back-up all ready to go. Bow was an old Shakespeare that was unharmed. Ranger never went near another bow...

The stupidist thing I ever did bow wise was build this wonderful cocabola and fancy myrtle carbon bow for myself. Then I proceeded to cut it out on the wrong side. I was never so disgusted in my life/.

Went to sleep in a tree stand, and fell out ...........long long ago ........before tree stand safety was emphasized. That's no excuse, but I was young and dumb. Praise God everytime I think about it that I didn't kill or seriously injure myself!    :knothead:
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Yeah, once...maybe twice.

On the string, I've had a few folks tell me about that happening.

It's not very hard to do--a little touch with a sharp broadhead is all it takes.  One in particular I remember was a fellow putting an arrow back into a bow quiver at dusk--boy was he aggravated.....

I was snipin my way through some real thick briars and honeysuckle vines last yr., got a little carried away and mistakenly thought my string was a vine.

One good reason for a pretty bow string. Luckily I caught myself before the final squeeze and got the bow unstrung before the last few strands broke.
