UPS came late tonight
In the box from John Wert was this very cool riser
Here it is with a set of Dryad Epic Bamboo core limbs 50 # - 55 # @28
only thing missing is the quiver which will be along any day
After some admiring of the nicely machined riser ( kinda cool with the little compass )
The medium grip handle felt good and I liked that the limb bolts could be cranked all the way in and the limbs can still be taken on and off do to the machined bolt spacer
The limbs which are shorts when combined with the 19 inch riser mke for a 60 inch bow which is what I favor in a hunting bow @ my 27 inch or so draw
Look at the hook in these limbs
I strung it up with a fast flight string put on some fur silencers adjusted the tiller for an 1/8 inch positive and set the brace height at 7 1/2 inches and put it on the scale
At my draw it scaled 50 #
I have raw shafts to start out with bare shafting and a cut saw but I always go thru my current selection of arrows. In every arrow tube there is always one bare shaft version of that length
The first I grabbed where on the tad stiff side but not by much
Then I grabbed a bare shaft from my Hoyt Buffalo that scales 55# @ my draw and thank god it flew sweet on my indoor 15 yd range
I have to shoot outside at different distances to be sure but I love when a certain arrow works out of different bows so I'm hoping for the best again I won't know till I play with it for a bit
Pretty impressive that it's liking an arrow that was made for a bow that is 5 pounds heavier
The riser feels dead in the hand and the bow is quiet
The limbs are lighter than I am used to shooting and are a joy, very smooth and seem to be quite fast.I will chronograph it in the am
Once I get the quiver on and tweak everything I think I will have another winner here. So far I am so impressed that it might be making the trip to the Baltimore shoot his weekend
Thanks to John at TT and mike at Dryad for answering my questions
Good stuff
There will be more after I chrono and get a quiver set up
